These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Spriha Society website located at www.sprihasociety.org, together with its pages, forms, resources, programmes, registration facilities, donation facilities and other features made available through the website (collectively, the "Website").

For these Terms, "Spriha Society", "we", "us" and "our" refer to Spriha Society.

By accessing, browsing or using the Website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any additional terms specifically applicable to a particular programme, event, course or service.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please discontinue use of the Website.

1. ABOUT SPRIHA SOCIETY

Spriha Society is a non-profit organisation working in areas including:

• menstrual health education;

• menstrual hygiene awareness;

• period poverty awareness;

• gender awareness and inclusion;

• educational programmes;

• community awareness;

• workshops and events;

• volunteering and internships; and

• related social-impact initiatives.

The Website is intended primarily to provide information about our organisation, activities, programmes, educational resources, campaigns, opportunities and ways in which individuals may engage with or support our work.

2. ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS

By using the Website, you agree to:

1. use the Website lawfully and responsibly;

2. comply with these Terms;

3. comply with all applicable laws and regulations;

4. respect the rights of Spriha Society and third parties; and

If you are using the Website on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to accept these Terms on that organisation's behalf.

3. ELIGIBILITY AND USE BY MINORS

The Website may contain educational material relating to menstrual health, gender, health, equality and social issues.

Some Spriha Society programmes may involve children or persons under 18 years of age.

Where a programme, registration or activity involves children, additional eligibility, parental/guardian consent, safeguarding or participation requirements may apply.

Nothing in these Terms permits a child to bypass any consent, registration or safeguarding requirement applicable to a particular activity.

Spriha Society may restrict, suspend or refuse access to a particular programme where necessary to comply with safeguarding requirements or applicable law.

Subject to these Terms, Spriha Society grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to access and use the publicly available Website for lawful, personal, educational and non-commercial purposes.

8. EDUCATIONAL AND MENSTRUAL HEALTH CONTENT

Spriha Society publishes educational content relating to menstrual health, menstrual hygiene, gender awareness, wellbeing and related subjects.

Such information is provided for general educational and awareness purposes only.

It is not intended to:

• constitute medical advice;

• diagnose a medical condition;

• prescribe treatment;

• replace consultation with a qualified healthcare professional; or

• create a doctor-patient or other professional relationship.

9. INFORMATION ABOUT PROGRAMMES AND ACTIVITIES

• the programme is cancelled or postponed; or

Spriha Society may decline or cancel a registration where reasonably necessary for operational, safeguarding, legal or security reasons.

11. VOLUNTEERING, INTERNSHIPS AND OTHER APPLICATIONS

Submission of an application does not guarantee:

• selection;

• employment;

• internship;

• volunteering;

• speaking engagement;

• partnership; or

• any other relationship with Spriha Society.

Applications may be evaluated according to organisational requirements, suitability, availability, safeguarding considerations and programme needs.

Applicants must provide truthful and accurate information.

Spriha Society may verify information provided by an applicant where reasonably necessary and lawful.

12. USER SUBMISSIONS

The Website may allow you to submit information through forms, applications, enquiries, feedback, testimonials, photographs or other communications ("User Submissions").

You remain responsible for the information and material you submit.

​

You represent that, to the extent applicable:

1. you have the necessary rights or authority to submit the material;

2. the submission does not knowingly infringe another person's legal rights;

3. you are not unlawfully disclosing another person's confidential or personal information;

4. the submission is not fraudulent or misleading; and

5. the submission does not contain unlawful or malicious material.

13. IMPORTANT CHANGE TO YOUR CURRENT USER-CONTENT CLAUSE

General submissions

Information submitted through applications, enquiries, registrations or other private communications will be handled according to our Privacy Policy and will not automatically receive a broad publication licence.

Public content

Where you specifically submit content for publication, such as a testimonial, story, photograph or campaign contribution, you grant Spriha Society a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, display and publish that specific material for the purposes explained to you at the time of submission, subject to any applicable consent or withdrawal rights.

14. PHOTOGRAPHS, VIDEOS AND TESTIMONIALS

Spriha Society may document workshops, events, awareness programmes and other activities through photographs or videos.

Where identifiable individuals are featured, Spriha Society will seek appropriate consent, permission or another lawful basis where required.

Additional safeguards may apply to photographs, videos or other content involving children.

We will seek to avoid publishing unnecessary identifying information about children.

15. DONATIONS

Spriha Society accepts donations through payment methods and channels made available from time to time.

By donating, you represent that:

• you are authorised to use the payment method;

• the funds are lawfully obtained;

• the information provided is accurate; and

• the donation is not being made for an unlawful purpose.

Spriha Society reserves the right to decline, return, hold or otherwise deal with a donation where reasonably necessary to comply with:

• applicable law;

• tax requirements;

• foreign-contribution requirements;

• banking requirements;

• payment-provider requirements;

• anti-fraud measures; or

• internal compliance procedures.

16. DONATION TAX BENEFITS

Where applicable, Spriha Society may provide donation receipts and other statutory documentation required under applicable law.

Any tax deduction or tax benefit is subject to:

• applicable law;

• the donor's eligibility;

• the donor's tax circumstances; and

• the documentation and requirements prescribed by the relevant authorities.

Spriha Society does not guarantee that a particular donor will receive a particular tax benefit or deduction.

Donors should obtain independent tax advice where appropriate.

17. FOREIGN DONATIONS

We currently do not have FCRA and don't accept foreign donations. Where donations originate from outside India, additional legal and regulatory requirements may apply.

Spriha Society may accept or process such donations only where permitted under applicable law and where the relevant requirements are satisfied.

​

Nothing on the Website should be interpreted as a representation that Spriha Society is permitted to accept every category of foreign contribution.

​

Where applicable, foreign contributions may be subject to the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 (FCRA) and associated requirements.

18. DONATION REFUNDS

Donation refund requests will be considered in accordance with Spriha Society's Donation Refund Policy.

Refund requests

A donor should submit a written refund request as soon as reasonably possible and preferably within 7 calendar days of the transaction.

A refund request may require:

• donor name;

• transaction date;

• amount;

• transaction/UTR/reference number;

• proof of payment;

• reason for the request; and

• copy/details of the donation receipt, where applicable.

Refund considerations

Refunds may be considered for circumstances including:

• duplicate transactions;

• accidental donations;

• payment errors;

• technical errors;

• unauthorised transactions reported promptly; or

• other circumstances approved by Spriha Society.

Where a statutory receipt or tax documentation has already been issued, any refund will be subject to applicable legal, tax and accounting requirements.

​

Where the error is demonstrably attributable to Spriha Society, we will make reasonable efforts to correct the error and process an appropriate refund.

​

Processing

Approved refund requests will ordinarily be processed within 7 working days after approval, although the time taken for the refunded amount to appear in the donor's account may depend on the relevant bank, payment gateway or financial institution.

​

International transactions may require additional processing time.

Spriha Society cannot guarantee that a refund will always be possible where the transaction has already been settled, a statutory requirement prevents reversal, or the relevant payment provider does not permit reversal.

19. PAYMENT PROVIDERS

Where donations or payments are processed through a third-party payment provider, bank, UPI service or other payment intermediary, the transaction may also be governed by that provider's terms and privacy policy.

Spriha Society does not request your:

• UPI PIN;

• OTP;

• card PIN;

• CVV;

• internet-banking password;

• payment password; or

• other payment authentication credentials.

Never provide these credentials to Spriha Society or anyone claiming to represent us.

20. PRIVACY AND PERSONAL DATA

Your use of the Website is also subject to our Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy explains how Spriha Society collects, uses, stores, shares, protects and retains personal data.

Spriha Society seeks to process personal data in accordance with applicable Indian data-protection law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and applicable rules as and when their respective provisions apply. The Act establishes obligations for Data Fiduciaries and rights for Data Principals, while the notified 2025 Rules prescribe additional requirements for notices, consent, security, breach management and other matters.

27. NO GUARANTEE OF OUTCOMES

Information about Spriha Society's programmes, campaigns, educational initiatives or social-impact activities describes our intended activities and reported work.

Past impact does not guarantee future outcomes.

References to numbers reached, programmes conducted, schools engaged, products distributed or other impact metrics are based on organisational records available at the relevant time and may be updated or corrected.

28. INDEMNIFICATION

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to be responsible for reasonable losses, claims, liabilities or expenses arising directly from your:

• unlawful use of the Website;

• material breach of these Terms;

• fraudulent conduct; or

• infringement of another person's rights through content or information you unlawfully submit.

This clause does not require you to indemnify Spriha Society for liability caused by Spriha Society's own unlawful conduct or liability that cannot legally be transferred to you.

33. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of India.

Subject to applicable law, disputes arising in connection with these Terms or use of the Website shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in Kolkata, West Bengal, India.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to deprive a person of any mandatory statutory right or jurisdiction that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
