Covid 19
In 2020, we provided essential relief in Kolkata, West Bengal, during the Covid-19 pandemic by distributing sanit kits and dry food packets to five neighborhoods, addressing urgent needs for vulnerable communities.
Cyclone Amphan
After Cyclone Amphan's devastation in 2020, Spri Society provided crucial aid in the Sundarbans, distributing supplies like food, sanitary products, and water to those in need.
Cyclone Yaas
Spriha Society initiated a Safe Sanitation Campaign after Cyclone Yaas in 2021 to support Sundarbans communities. Our efforts included distributing clean drinking water and napkins to address immediate needs and enhance health and well-being.
Our Journey with the Trans-community in Kolkata and Relief Work
We conducted a comprehensive survey to assess the economic and health conditions of the community, with a special focus on the impact of the pandemic. Our findings helped us identify the areas where we can make the biggest difference.

Our non-profit organized a community-building program that included a plantation drive. We encouraged all members of society to join us in adopting a sustainable lifestyle. We also distributed food packets and sanitization kits to those in need.

On Mahalaya, we conducted a community engagement program that included a film screening. This was a great opportunity for us to connect with the community and share our vision for a better future.

In 2021, we conducted a survey of small businesses in Kolkata to identify opportunities for the employment of trans people. Thanks to our efforts, we were able to facilitate the employment of two trans people and conducted gender-sensitization programs in the workplace.
