Olympism 365: Sports Training and Workshops for Women with Intellectual Disabilities
Women with intellectual disabilities (ID) encounter systemic challenges stemming from a dual layer of discrimination related to both their gender and their disabilities. One of the most alarming issues these women face is gender-based violence (GBV), which has seen a disturbing rise in reported incidents across India, leaving many vulnerable and marginalized. To confront this urgent and significant issue, the Civilian Welfare Foundation is joining forces with the Tarapur Social Development Society, Special Olympics Bharat-West Bengal, and the Spriha Society. Together, they are launching an innovative and transformative initiative aimed at providing support, raising awareness, and creating safe spaces for women with intellectual disabilities, ultimately striving to empower them and reduce the prevalence of violence they face.

A Game-Changing Initiative: Sports for Empowerment
We will conduct sports training sessions in six disciplines for 600 women with ID across West Bengal, supported by the International Olympics Committee. Research indicates that systematic sports training over five years significantly contributes to the psychosocial empowerment of athletes with disabilities. This initiative aims to provide a safe and structured environment for women with ID to build confidence, develop resilience, and enhance their overall well-being.

National Workshop for Engaging Inclusive Master Trainers
As part of this initiative, we are organizing a series of workshops dedicated to training and developing inclusive trainers who can effectively work with women with ID. The first in this series, titled:
